Commit to Beat Cancer

Cancer is a political issue and political action saves lives. The Commit to Beat Cancer campaign aims to make the UK's cancer outcomes among the best in Europe. Following the success of the Westminster Commit to Beat Cancer campaign last year, in the run up to the devolved elections in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on 5 May, we asked assembly candidates to sign our Cancer Commitment. Thanks for your support.

We’re pleased to report that 246 devolved election candidates signed the Cancer Commitment to improve cancer survival rates which translated into having 101 newly elected MSPs, AMs and MLAs in the devolved assemblies committed to support measures to beat cancer. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Our research is entirely funded by the public. Getting the research right is vital, but political decisions can determine whether or not that research will benefit patients' lives. That’s why we campaign. That's why we asked your candidates to Commit to Beat Cancer.
