Radiotherapy campaign

Radiotherapy helps cure more people than chemotherapy but shortages in staff and equipment mean that some people are missing out.

We want to put this right.

So we’ve been collecting petition signatures calling on the government to make sure that the best radiotherapy treatments are available to everyone who needs them.

Thanks so much to everyone who took part and supported the campaign, we were thrilled to meet our target number of signatures with over 36,000 people giving their support.

We took the petition to Number 10 Downing Street on 3 November 2011 along with a few of our amazing Cancer Campaigns Ambassadors who played a really key role in this campaign. Keep an eye on this page for updates on the Government’s response.

If you’re interested in getting involved in our campaigns in the future, you can sign up to receive our campaign emails or find out more about the Cancer Campaigns Ambassador programme.

Thank you

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported out campaign, especially our Cancer Campaigns Ambassadors. Our Ambassadors have done an incredible job in raising support and awareness for the campaign and collecting signatures. You can find out more about the Ambassador programme on our Ambassador pages.

What’s next?

It is important that as our campaign, and the Year of Radiotherapy, come to a close, that we continue our work to ensure that patients get access to the best treatments. We will continue to work behind the scenes and raise awareness about the importance of radiotherapy with politicians in order to ensure that all patients who will benefit get access to world-class radiotherapy
